Office blues

Just took a week of holidays, today is the last and I think the weather is making it easier for me to go back to work, it's literally pouring outside. Ah well, at least I can resume gossiping at the coffee machine tomorrow, it's not all that bad ;-)

Summer dreams

I took my holidays in July and they already feel like a distant memory... I would love taking off another week and spend it in one of the following summer houses.

Yummie

I'm making pancakes tonight in honour of the dog's birthday. Yes indeed, the dog's birthday.

Any excuse to make pancakes is good enough, no?

Hiding out

Oh, how I would love an alcove bed to hide out in. Tucked away in a small world of my own together with my loved one, could live be any greater?

Wardrobe worries

My Ikea clothes rack is about to collapse, it's time to get a sturdier one. (Less clothes is definitely not an option...)

String fling

I am seriously smitten with string shelves. Vintage Tomado's or 'new' String Systems, I don't care, I just want one to call my own...

Flandrien

Yesterday the whole of Belgium got excited about the 'Ronde van Vlaanderen', a very important cycling event. To be honest I'm not really a cycling – or sports in general – fan but it's hard not to get caught up in the thrill of it all. So even tough I didn't spend my Sunday in front of the television, I do want to honour the event with a bicycle post.

Now that spring has begun, all I can think of is colour, colour colour! Ah, what a little sunshine can do...

White as ?

So I'm thinking of repainting. To keep everything light and airy, I'm going for white. But what to choose now, like really as white, as you can get, white, or something a little bit warmer? But I don't want it to turn out too creamy neither...

What are your experiences with white paint? What tint do you think works best?

Rock-a-bye baby

Lately I find myself drifting off to sleep while watching television. Something I just to make fun of when my parents did it when I was a teenager. Oh dear, sounds like I'm getting old, or maybe I'm overworked, or possibly even both...

Or maybe I should just accept my narcolepsy and invest in a nice day bed. I mean, siestas are good for you, right?

Set off the firecrackers

I've been swamped with work lately so that's why this post is running a bit late, 3 days late to be exactly. Anyway: Happy Chinese New Year everybody!

2011 is the year of the rabbit which is very good since I love rabbits, especially if their white and fluffy. But I thought, instead of showing you the obvious rabbit inspired photographs, I'll do a more oriental themed post. Enjoy!

By the book: The Great Gatsby

Although I don't believe in new year's resolutions, I did happen to make a promise to myself which coincides with the beginning of 2011. I decided to read up on some of literature's classics. Being a big books fan, this will be an easy promise to keep, but just as a little extra encouragement I'm going to combine my literary efforts with some blogging. I'll use the books I'm reading, or to be more precisely, the interiors they feature, as an inspiration for a post.

First up is the Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Snow keeps falling on my attic bedroom

It's been snowing like mad. Getting to work is a hardship, sometimes I think I would be faster walking. On days like this, you just want to stay in bed. If I had an attic bedroom, I could watch the snow fall on my windows and feel truly cut off from the outside world...
