I love magazines and generally buy about 5 a month. Some of them I keep for research reasons: Vogue, Delicious, Elle Decoration... But then there are others that I simply throw away, for instance Glamour.
Actually since I don't like throwing away stuff, my old Glamours generally move into the toilet for a few months – you would be surprised how much the boyfriend knows about fashion and pms by now – until I finally get over it and recycle them.
But maybe there's a way of recycling my magazines without actually getting rid of them...
I could get creative and turn them into a lamp like Australian Designer Andrew Aloisio.
Or into a magazine stool – (Dutch) tutorial on 101 woonideeen.
Or use them as a book case support...

Do you have any other ideas how you can recycle magazines in style?

I'm actually seeking advice on this point, but I have small apartment, and I'm moving to a new place, I know I have to throw some away, but I want to keep most of the expensive Japanese fashion magz I've been saving up for years...
Ugh, I'm always having magazines pile up and trying to think of interesting ways to "re-use" them!
Yellowgoat, it seems to me that you have more of a storage problem than a recycling problem... I don't think that if you turn your old magazines into a lamp you'll be able to still read them :) I once saw, in a house tour, a custom bed frame that was raised so there were bookcases underneath - I'll see if I can find some pictures - that might be a solution for you...
Here's another awesome idea from Re-Nest (part of Apartment Therapy). http://www.re-nest.com/re-nest/how-to/how-to-craft-a-table-using-old-magazines-060208
Wow Emily, it really is incredible how sturdy that table is! Paper never fails to amaze me...
