After seeing these photographs I just want to whisk my boyfriend off for a romantic weekend in Paris. How emancipated is that!

I'm always amazed how resourceful people are when it comes to decorating small spaces. I especially like it when an ordinary closet turns out to be a little treasure chest.

It's time again to turn on the heating. I always dread this moment because it means that summer is really over... Okay the rain and falling leaves already gave that away a tiny bit but I'm always capable of blocking out the approaching winter until it gets seriously colder. So, time to put away the summer dresses and to cross your fingers in hope that the mottes didn't eat most of your winter wardrobe...

But the be honest a nice little radiator isn't all that bad, especially if your so lucky to have a cast iron one. They beat all the modern designs by a long shot...

Habitat 2010

I've already summed up all my fav items from the Ikea 2010 catalogue and I was going to do the same for Habitat but before I could do so my sister hijacked my catalogue. She has finally made a decision on her new coffee table, so with a little delay, here is my top 5:

PS: Just read some disturbing news, Ikea is selling Habitat because it's loosing money. I hope they will soon get out of the red figures, would hate to see them go broke...

Sun flowers

I have mentioned this before, but I'm not a big fan of suntile covered roofs – they hurt my esthetic soul – but fortunately solar power can look good too.



Come and admire with me the sunflower solar garden designed by artists Mags Harries and Lajos Heder. This installation in Austin, Texas consists of 15 flower-like elements which capture
energy from the sun.



And they also light up at night, how cool is that!

Puzzling

Flake by Woodnotes, consists of snow flake like pieces which are joined together by slipping the point of one flake through the hole of another flake. They can be used as curtains, partitions but even as table decoration.



At first sight these flowers seem to delicate to touch, let alone put them together, but don't worry they're made out of Tyvek. So you don't need to worry about ripping them apart.

Feeling yellow

It's been raining here for it seems like an eternity. I don't feel like letting go of summer just yet so here's a post filled with beautiful warm yellows to compensate for the missing sunshine.

Sweet dreams

I always love when companies reissue their vintage designs. It gets even more interesting when they do a modern interpretation. A nice example is the Cleopatra bed from Auping.

The Dutch bedding company has introduced an anniversary model of their most popular fifties model.

So which one do you prefer?
