Three of a kind

A simple geometric pattern can be so simple and iconic at the same time. And I think these triangle designs illustrate that perfectly.

Getting organized

I have a lot going on right now, I'm always busy making lists of things to do. Very efficient, except for the fact that I seem to keep losing them... Being tired of wasting time looking for my lists instead of ticking items off, I'm considering investing in a good wall planner.

Here's what I've found online so far:

• Blackboard wall planner

• Yearly planner

• Calendar wallpaper

I would love to hear if you know of any other planners...

Nothing to wear

Maybe you recognize this scene: it's 7 o'clock, you have got about ten minutes to get dressed an you look at your clothes and realise: I have nothing to wear. Not because you have no clothes, no you have zillions of clothes, but they are all, or at least the good ones, inside your overflowing laundry hamper.

I bet we've all been there before. And maybe there is an easy solution, maybe the key of doing household chores instead of postponing them, is making them a little more fun. Let's say for instance by having better designed laundry baskets/hampers. Okay maybe this wouldn't make doing laundry itself so much better but it would be a good start (literally and figuratively).

Or what about a laundry shoot instead?

Cat and house

This week I'm catsitting. My ward likes to eat snails and drink from the toilet but apart from that he's an adorable little kitty. So in honour of my new feline friend, I present you with some stylish pet beds.

(Although we all know of course that cats prefer laps over beds anytime)

Tick tock

Time just keeps on flying by. It seems like New Year was only yesterday and now all shop windows are already filled with Easter decorations.

Maybe it's a sign that you are getting old when you start cherishing every day that passes. Especially off course weekends...

Dreaming of light

Today is is groundhog day. A tradition that even we, non US residents, know everything about thanks to the movie industry. (The part when Bill Murray let's Punxsutawney Phil drives the car still has me giggling.)

Let's hope the little guy fails to see his shadow today since I long for some light. But just in case we're not so lucky, here are some very original lamps that are almost as good as sunlight (almost, but not really).

On a wire

I'm not 100% sure they're very comfortable but lately I've been swooning over wire chairs.

Joy to the world

I remember that, when we we're kids, me and my sister often played with the figurines of my grandma's nativity scene. (Especially the angel was very popular).

But lately Christmas seems to be becoming more a commercial than a christian holiday with Santa Claus taking over the place of baby Jesus. A bit a shame especially with these lovely designed nativity sets on sale.

– Presepe Group, Alessi

– Girard nativity set, House Industries

– Handpainted Nativity Set, Goose Grease

Wish list: for kitchen princesses

I think of myself as a weekend cook. Every Friday I leave through my extensive cooking books and magazines looking for new recipes and then spend my weekend trying them out. Cooking in the week – way too stressy for me – is in the boyfriends capable hands.

The following wishlist is for all kitchen princes and princess, be it week or weekend.

• Salt & Pepper Shakers, Jonathan Adler

• Chopboard, Fine Little Shop

• Trivia Box and Dinner Party Honour Set, Jamie Oliver

• Farmer's Egg Crate, Anthropologie

I heart...

... ceramics by Lenneke Wispelwey.

If I get one wish for Christmas then it is for this talented designer to open up an online shop so I can stop drooling over my keyboard.
